On the occasion of the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, the Human Rights Unit at the College of Education for Pure Sciences – Ibn Al-Haitham, in cooperation with the Department of Mathematics, organized an awareness workshop at the late Professor Dr. Oribi Al-Zobaie Hall. The workshop was delivered by Lecturer Faisal Shallal and Assistant Professor Dr. Hanan Ali.

The workshop aimed to enhance awareness of the importance of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and its vital role in community development and improving quality of life, in addition to highlighting the impact of digital transformation in supporting sustainable development pathways.

The workshop emphasized the importance of narrowing the digital divide between developed and developing countries to ensure equal opportunities for all to benefit from the achievements of the digital revolution and modern technologies.

It also addressed the significance of encouraging digital innovation and employing modern technologies to achieve sustainable development goals, while shedding light on several issues related to the digital society, including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data protection, and equitable access to the Internet.
