The College of Education for Pure Sciences (Ibn Al-Haytham) at University of Baghdad received the university committee responsible for establishing scientific laboratories under the University Presidency during an official visit aimed at reviewing the status of laboratories across the university’s academic formations.
The committee was received by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Firas Abdulhamid Abdul Latif, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, the Head of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division, as well as the heads of the Departments of Physics and Life Sciences. During the visit, a comprehensive review of the existing laboratories in both departments was conducted.
The visit aimed to verify the College’s completion of the requirements for establishing teaching practice laboratories in the Departments of Physics and Life Sciences, as these are considered essential prerequisites for achieving program accreditation in accordance with the standards of the Iraqi Council for Accreditation of Education Programs.
The visit highlighted the importance of these laboratories in strengthening the practical skills of students, enabling them to acquire teaching and classroom management competencies through hands-on experience, and enhancing scientific understanding through experimentation and practice rather than relying solely on theoretical instruction.
