Our college has been awarded the Excellence Shield by the General Directorate of Civil Defense at the Ministry of Defense, in recognition of its outstanding efforts in implementing public safety and security regulations, instructions, and requirements, as well as promoting a culture of preventive awareness and effective preparedness for potential risks and emergencies within the university environment.
The recognition reflects the continuous efforts undertaken by the college through its Civil Defense Unit, under the responsibility of Mr. Ali Muhannad Ismail, with the active participation of the unit’s staff. These efforts focus on implementing approved safety and prevention requirements and enhancing the level of preparedness and safety across the college’s various facilities and buildings.
The Civil Defense Unit has implemented a range of training, educational, and awareness-raising programs and activities targeting all members of the university community, including faculty members, administrative and technical staff, and students. These initiatives aim to promote a culture of public safety and risk prevention, familiarize staff and students with appropriate emergency procedures, and strengthen their ability to respond safely and effectively to various emergency situations.
The unit’s activities have also included cultural and awareness-raising events as well as practical field exercises, which contribute to enhancing preventive awareness and strengthening preparedness and emergency response capabilities. These activities have been complemented by continuous follow-up of safety and security requirements throughout the university environment.
As part of the college’s commitment to providing a safe academic environment, the Civil Defense Unit has also undertaken regular servicing, inspection, and maintenance of safety and security equipment, devices, and systems across the college’s facilities and buildings. These measures aim to ensure their operational readiness and effectiveness, thereby contributing to risk reduction and the protection of lives and property.
Receiving the Excellence Shield demonstrates the college’s institutional commitment to public safety and civil defense standards. It also reflects the collective efforts of the college administration, the Civil Defense Unit, and its personnel in developing a safe university environment based on prevention, awareness, continuous training, and emergency preparedness and response.

It also highly values the efforts of Mr. Ali Muhannad Ismail and the staff of the Civil Defense Unit for their commitment to carrying out their responsibilities and strengthening safety and security measures throughout the college.
